I help organizations create places that make a difference.
I believe that the places we create shape the way we work, learn, meet and live.
In an era where technology and AI are taking over, the physical environment is becoming more important than ever. Not just how it looks, but how it impacts people, communities, and the outcomes we want to create.
That's why I work with strategic design.
Not as a design exercise, but as a tool to translate ambitions into concrete solutions.
I help companies, municipalities and organizations develop concepts, spaces and places that create value for people, brands, business and our common future.
Creating Better Places
Creating Better Places is my personal development track.
Here I research and develop new concepts where nature, community, sustainability and strategic design meet.
I think we will need new types of places. Places where people can collaborate, recover, learn, experience and create relationships in new ways.
It can be anything from workplaces and learning environments to destinations, retreats, community houses or new concepts in nature.
My background
I am a trained industrial designer specializing in retail design and have more than 20 years of experience with strategic design, concept development and development of physical environments.
As founder of MODUS, I have built a company, brand and teams and completed more than 400 projects - from strategy and concept development to implementation.
I currently work both through MODUS and as a strategic advisor via pbruun.com, where I act as a sparring partner, project partner, board member or permanently affiliated consultant.
My goal is simple:
To help organizations make better decisions about the places, experiences and concepts they invest in.

Behind:
Privately, I am a mother of 2 and married to Anders.
I am originally from South Jutland, but live in Silkeborg. In my spare time I love traveling with my family, kayaking, winter swimming, playing water polo and doing creative projects.

Strategic design is not about making something prettier.
It's about creating the results you want.
Design only becomes strategic when it supports a company's goals, culture and people.
Therefore, the process rarely begins with materials or furniture.
It begins with questions:
What should the place be able to do?
What behavior do we want?
Who do we design for?
How does the location support the organization's strategy?
When the answers are clear, design becomes a strategic tool – not an expense.
What is Strategic Design?
It depends on what room or concept it is, but examples.
Hospitality, destinations and new concepts:
Places that make people stay longer, return and create relationships, community, etc. – because the experience is strategically thought out from the start.

Workplaces: Workplaces that support collaboration, well-being, innovation and efficiency.
Several of my clients say after implementation that they experience greater well-being, better collaboration and increased innovation in everyday life.
Retail : Stores that make it easier to navigate strengthen the brand experience and create better customer experiences. One of my retail projects resulted in a documented 53% increase in sales. Other projects have created improvements in customer behavior, experience and revenue.

How can we use Strategic Design?
What do my customers say?
We have felt a great commitment throughout the project. Pernille has been very solution-oriented despite an unpredictable industry and time. Even in this situation, Pernille showed great flexibility and found solutions.
